By using MyTekton, you agree to the terms below.

What MyTekton is for

MyTekton is meant to give people their own little place on the internet.

You can use your Home for art, writing, projects, portfolios, personal pages, weird experiments, or whatever else you feel like making, as long as it follows the rules here.

The parts of MyTekton made by us, including our templates, props, artwork, code, graphics, branding, and other assets, belong to Disordered Media unless we say otherwise.

You're free to use and customize those things inside MyTekton. That doesn't mean you can take them, redistribute them, resell them, or pass them off as your own work somewhere else.

Your work is still yours

Anything original that you upload or create belongs to you.

That includes your artwork, writing, code, music, characters, images, designs, and anything else you add to your Home.

Posting something on MyTekton does not give us ownership of it. You're only giving us permission to host, store, and display it so the site can actually work.

We are not claiming the right to sell your work, reuse it as our own, or train AI on it.

You are responsible for what you upload, so please make sure you actually have permission to use anything that isn't yours.

Do not use MyTekton content for AI

Content shared on MyTekton cannot be used to train AI or machine learning systems.

This includes content made by us and content made by users, such as artwork, writing, code, music, images, designs, characters, comments, guestbook entries, and anything else hosted through MyTekton.

Do not scrape, collect, download in bulk, or build datasets out of MyTekton content for things like:

• AI training or fine-tuning
• machine learning datasets
• generative image, writing, audio, video, or code models
• AI testing, benchmarking, or evaluation
• selling or distributing datasets to AI companies or developers
• giving collected MyTekton content to another person or service for any of the above

Something being publicly visible does not mean you have permission to use it for AI training.

Your Home is your responsibility

You're responsible for what you put on your Home.

We do not manually review everything before it goes up, and something appearing on MyTekton does not mean we made it, agree with it, or endorse it.

If something breaks these terms or causes a serious problem, we may remove it. We may also suspend or delete Homes or accounts when necessary.

We'll usually try to warn you first when that makes sense, but there may be situations where we need to act immediately.

Don't use MyTekton to hurt people

Do not use MyTekton to harass, threaten, stalk, impersonate, or deliberately target someone.

Do not dox people or post their private information without permission.

Do not use MyTekton to spread malware, compromise someone's account or device, bypass site security, or intentionally cause harm.

Illegal content is not allowed.

If we are legally required to report something or cooperate with authorities, we will.

No bigotry

Hateful content aimed at people for who they are has no place on MyTekton. That includes homophobia, transphobia, polyphobia, racism, antisemitism, islamophobia, sinophobia, misogyny, ableism, xenophobia, and hatred based on religion, nationality, caste, body, or health. That list is not complete and it is not a checklist to work around.

It covers slurs, hate symbols, dehumanizing "jokes", pile-ons aimed at someone for who they are, and promoting or recruiting for hate groups. Saying it was ironic does not change what it does to the person reading it.

Fiction is allowed to go to dark places. A story that depicts bigotry is not the same as a Home that spreads it, and we can tell the difference.

The mods decide what falls under this, case by case, and that decision stands. There is no exhaustive list to lawyer through, and we are not obliged to debate it with you. If your work is taken down or your account is closed under this section, this is the reason.

If you see something like this, report it.

18+ content

Adult content is allowed as long as it is properly marked 18+.

Please use the available warnings so people who do not want to see that kind of content can avoid it.

Marking something as 18+ does not make otherwise prohibited or illegal content okay.

Don't mess with the site

Please don't intentionally make MyTekton harder to use for everyone else.

That includes things like exploiting bugs, bypassing security, spamming, abusing site features, evading bans with alternate accounts, overwhelming the site with requests, or running bots, crawlers, or scrapers against MyTekton without permission.

Scraping user content for AI or dataset purposes is specifically not allowed.

What we collect (and what we don't)

When you sign in with Google, we get your email address. Only the two of us running the site can see it. Other users never can.

We keep the things you make so we can show them: your rooms, your drafts, your posts, your mail, who you follow and what you LOVE. Anything you upload can be seen by anyone with its link, because that is how your room shows it to visitors.

Rooms and posts count their visits, not their visitors. We don't keep track of who looked at what. Mail sent anonymously really is anonymous. Nobody can trace it back to you, not even us.

If you turn on notifications, we keep what's needed to send them to your device. The site runs on Google's servers and uses Google's bot protection. That's it for outside services.

There are no ads and no trackers, and we will never sell or share your data. Deleting a room takes it off the site right away. We keep short-lived backups so accidents can be undone, and those eventually get deleted.

As MyTekton grows, we may bring on moderators to help. Moderators can take down content, unlist rooms, or in severe cases delete a Home when necessary. Only admins will ever have access to emails.

Understand that things can break

We do our best, but we cannot promise that the site will always be online, bug-free, completely secure, or exactly the same forever.

Please keep your own backups of anything important. MyTekton should not be the only place where the original copy of your work exists.

As far as the law allows, Disordered Media is not responsible for user-created content, disputes between users, or losses caused by using the site.

MyTekton is a small project

MyTekton is free to use and is run by two people.

We care a lot about it, but we cannot watch every Home at every hour of the day or respond to every report immediately.

If something is broken, unsafe, or breaking these rules, please send it through the proper support or report channels so we can actually see it.

We'll get to it as soon as we reasonably can.

Changes

These terms may change as MyTekton changes.

The newest version will always be posted here. If you keep using MyTekton after the terms are updated, that means you agree to the new version.
